# Department

You can define departments in your company and assign hardware or persons to them.

XEOX is using departments only for documentation purposes. User can see an overview of departments as well as creating a new one under **Assets - Department**. Create a new one by clicking the **Create button** in the grey bar and entering a name and optionally a description.
