# Timing

You can set the time you want your automation to run at. The available options are:

- Let the automation run immediately
- Schedule a time and date the automation should run on

![notion image](https://docs.xeox.com/media/7d74b32283fc3d7f.png)

When using the second option, you should consider the automation's duration. For instance, if you set the maximum automation duration to four hours and want everything to be completed by 9:00 am, you should schedule the automation for at least 5:00 am. You can schedule an automation in two ways: by clicking the three dots alotted to the automation you want to schedule in **Automation - Active** and selecting **“Schedule”** or directly when creating the automation, as seen in detail [here](https://docs.xeox.com/automations/kk29w6Dr2iM3dbYa6gqsvV/automation/mZg6HQd9yufhkfDEeu4Yme) under **Runtime**.

Scheduling an already existing automation, by clicking the three dots works the same as scheduling while creating the automation. A window will open that lets user select a timezone as well as a scheduling time.
