# Patching

#### Patching to a permanent cabling

After you have defined your permanent cabling, you can connect network devices such as switches to the cabling.

More about permanent cabling [here](https://docs.xeox.com/assets/9nQgofHUtLmK3DN3rofvs2/building-plan/r5XdQG2LvRYhUBpuSBVe5Q).

With the Button

you can patch a switch port with an endpoint like patch panel port.

Example: Switchport Gi1/0/1 is connected with Patch Panel A, Port A01

Important Note: **You have to define the patchcable (=short network cable) which is between the switchport and the permanent cabling. In most cases this would be the patch panel port.**

Now you seed the connected endpoint for network interface Gi1/0/1
