Usually following steps are required to activate dot1x / RADIUS authentication on your switch:

Global Switch Settings

  • Configure a RADIUS Server:
    • Enter the IP address of the RADIUS server
    • Enter the pre shared key for the RADIUS server
  • Activate AAA on the switch (not on all models required)
    • e.g. aaa new model and aaa authentication dot1x default group radius

on each Switchport

  • Activate dot1x authentication

Finding correct RADIUS settings

Open the console on the RADIUS server you got from HS2N.
